Hi all,new to trials, should have looked on here before i bought a trials bike, but ive just bought one and there is a reg plate with it but the lad i bought it from didnt have a V5,so i wondered what the best/easiest way to obtain one would be.
Ive dealt with the DVLA before so i know nothings easy for them, but heres hoping, thanks for your time.
Regards Andy.

Go to your local post office and ask for a V10 this should cover your prob, but ask the post master to be sure, good luck

V10 is the old form for an application for road tax for when you can't do it on-line. Form to apply for a V5 registration document is V62.
You can print them off on-line here
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Diol1/DoItOnli...ing/DG_10031645Send the form off to DVLA with the fee (used to be £15, no doubt gone up now) They will write to the previous owner advising that someone has applied for the V5. If the previous owner confirms they no longer own the bike they will issue you with the V5. Or if they receive no reply within 14 days from the previous owner they will issue you with the V5

It won't help you get your V5 but it is still worth doing as it's free. It'll tell you what model of vehicle the reg belongs to.

You can do a simple check here, to check the number is right for the bike..
https://www.mycarcheck.com/ but it may have needed to be taxed in recent years.
