  1. I broke the bike in the end, hope it helped a few with parts, still have a good frame and a few parts left. Hi all have not been on for a while, still have 3 fantic,s left and hope to get back out on them early next year .
  2. Black powder coat and vapour blasting
  3. Due to unemployment and the need to get money for an electrical course this project has to stop with great regret .
  4. I have just had trouble with my rc mag misfire - not revving , but i replaced the wiring from the mag to the cdi with heat resistant cables and also found the external pick up was loose and corroded between the stator AND PICK UP . I tried the bike out last night and what a difference the bloody thing fly, now . I add my 125 has dansi electronic ignition with a solid plastic source coil , but my trials has a wound coil that i read can play up BUT A REWIND SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM
  5. Do you mean the top yoke ????
  6. Do you remember these , bit smash was an understatement, with some glue work to piece them back together and fibre glass re-enforcement behind them they come up like this . I did have a fair bit of filling to do as well , but i have almost no chance of finding another pair for this model as its different from the model,s that superseded. Not absolute perfect they will be acceptable and give some service to this rare trial,s model Before There were many more crack,s not visible in the photo,s During The finished job , just need to get someone to make up the sticker,s from the photo,s and the bits i removed with a heat gun but that's all i have as a pattern
  7. Cabbie 50 almost done , will be doing the new forest moped run early august with the fizzy boys it great fun tying to be 16 again
  8. I have restored a lot of bike,s over the years but fantic,s are my fav especially the caballero.s but this little trial,s bike is really growing on me too. I was out yesterday on a ride out with a few mates , here a few pictures .
  9. Finished painting the frame so some of it can go back together soon
  10. Well the hub,s are finished and fitted with new wheel bearings . Every nut bolt and screw are the original,s , if you look back on the photo,s you will see how poor the hubs were . I note there is rather an unusual front brake arm to this model made of steel not alloy . Its like a moped one but with the fork , i haven't ever seen one of these for sale . But this was the first trials bike fantic made in 1978 , the hubs are different too from anything else fitted to there trials bikes after.
  11. Bit more done today , hub,s finished - brake plates , swing arm finished and frame coming on with its de rusting and sanding .This resto is an all in house economy resto this time , but she is coming together nicely. The wheels are almost ready to go back together 8) ,just 8 more spokes to zinc 8) This is an economy resto , i had the levers from my cabbie 125 but the threads were stripped . With a tap and a larger screw used the are good again , i re zinc,ed the pivot bolts and adjuster,s and the levers are like new . I add the powder coat was already done a long time ago, with some polishing DONE TO the bar,s they are now like new . I found some adjuster rubber shrouds in the shed for the lever,s and a pair of fantic grip,s . The throttle was new also just sitting on the shelf . So bye doing a bit of work to these parts the bar,s are now restored ready to fit one day 8) 8) It,s amazing what loom,s around the shed and gets forgotten about.
  12. Here,s a few picture of my cabbie 125 i finished in January this year , i have not long done the East Coast charity run on the bike and raised 1400 pound,s with friends for the charity E.A.C.H for terminally ill children . I am a fantic nut i suppose, i now have 6 of the bike,s , but started at sixteen with a fantic moped now im 49 going on 50 this year.
  13. Yes no problem , but it,s a time consuming job to do i may add . But you first need to clean all your old parts and remove rust and zinc . This is best done with the above stuff called no nonsense and a bench grinder wire wheel . No nonsense dose exactly what it says on the tin making the job much easier , but don't leave parts in it for more than a day as they sometime blacken . You need to then buy a zinc kit from the internet and follow the instruction,s close , remember do this job outside so the fumes don't do you any harm. Where rubber gloves at all times and a face mask while using the zinc tank . Hear,s where to get your kit at a good price and they are very helpful bye phone too. Hope this help,s http://www.gaterosplating.co.uk/Zinc-Plating-kit.php
  14. Bit more done to the TX 250 with some frame repairing and zinc plating
  15. you want to fill your brake hub full of no nonsense over night to remove all the rust from the hub , fit new shoes then it will work fine . You can bye the stuff from B&Q, The clutch isn't the end of the world , better luck next time . Most of my fantic drum brakes are really good i find , the cdi coil is well worth fitting new , i payed 28 quid before After
