  1. just wanna check some thing with you fan kicks in but when i rev the bike or start moving again it cuts out and stops but as soon as i release the revs or stop the bike it kicks in again is this normal its a 2001 sy250. also did a trial at weekend and it was on the hills had to go up a long steep hill to get to the next section and bike started to overheat and produce steam from top of the rad. please dont think its to do with the fan as its been like this since i bought the bike but the overheating has only just occured and had the bike about 10 month so any help welcomed cheers james

    yeah its a fantastic bike when running cannot fault it just so hard to get going again , but still open to suggestions off anyone all welcome cheers
  3. i've done this job on my 2001 as smokes heavy but is still the same as before so not gauranteed fix

    could do with a little help not for me for a friend as i have the uber reliable scorpa 250 , any way he has bought one off the above 4T ON A 05 it has the kehien carb and the decompression lever and the exhaust heat guard near the carb but this is still proving to be a utter t**t to start hot or cold , have read a few post on them but no one seems to give a good clear answer on how to solve the problem of the starting issue. please could anyone put pics or even replys up for everyone to see even vids of your own running cheers .
  5. hi there thanks very much for the detailed reply it was smokey when i bought it but not as bad as it is now to be honest ,i never thought about the exhaust being full of crap , but how would you clean it as it is a sealed unit ???, it does seem to use oil thats wot makes me think it is the oil seal it uses about 75/100ml after about 4 rides for about 4/5 hrs each ride . i'm gonna try and get a video of it running and post it up . Its not that bad on tick over but when reved plumes of smoke. ;(

  7. just wondering weather anyone has changed there crankshaft oil seal , would like to know where it is , how hard to do it , and would this stop it from being like a smog when riding it i've already tryed to do a number of things to eliminate this by playing with the air / fuel mixture , the amount of 2 stroke oil i put in but still smoking like mad. if anyone could upload pics this would be great cheers james
  8. cheers will give that a try once put it all back together again pal but av got to do the crankshaft oil seal as well as mine is very very smokey ,just wondering if any one has do this job on there scorpa and how hard it is and where abouts is it ?????
  9. managed to bleed it up now the plunger had got stuck in the master cylinder probably due to lack of use for 3/4 month not the best weather though has it , but the problem is that even when the clutch is engaged it still moving do the clutch plates want removing and cleaning ???????????

  11. hi there wanted to change clutch oil on my scorpa sy250 2001 and wanted to know how to bleed the new oil back through as i have been trying to do it like i would doin the brakes but carnt seem to get any build up of pressure at all , been pumping clutch lever to force the oil through but still nothing help need please.
  12. think I've found the problem when I started it up I pulled the clutch in and selected a gear then let it out but nothing happened so pulled clutch leaver back in and out then it released and started going , but some times when I pull the clutch in it sometimes sticks and will not pull back to the handle bars feels like the spring inside the master cylinder is sticking so probably have to get a master cylinder kit to sort it out , its just strange how its gone like that all of a sudden.
  13. i could'nt select the gears as it would either jump off and go with the clutch in or would stall as soon as you put it into gear. really strange as it was fine 2 week ago cause that was the last time i used it an just put it back in the shed. i have cleaned the carb and changed the gear oil that should'nt have done anything to it.
  14. came to my scorpa today started it up no problem pulled clutch in selected 1 and cluch did't work , yet it was working only 2 week ago when i was out on it , theres no leak and resavour is still full has anyone got any ideas please surpose to be doin a trial tomorrow cheers .
  15. thanks for the ideas people but the alli blocks are about 15/20mm thick so cannot even tap them , i've just got a dremmal se what a can do with that lol loads of different bits in there to play with.
