I'll go with the last comments, grafics are a bit english/american retro..............frame looks very Greeves and for sure was deliberate, for me a big + but I don't see many 60 + Greeves fans reliving the 'good old days ' so has to be statement about Greeves. Price tag is nothing cos in euros it works out at 3730 quid............for me its half way to a good bike, just a thought.............. lets hope Triumph 'GET STUCK IN' and then we will talking real trials bikes............

    What Is This?

    Its a Beta 240 or 125 red frame white tank white seat blue and red tank sickers as per photos given, Sandifords were the first impoters then gave it up, quite an interesting story after but...............its history, good bikes, not liked at the time but well made and went well J Subria was works and development rider even made world champinship points on one.

    Rebores on 122 and 124 cc cyl to give big bore kits leave you with a 15 thou wall thichness on the skirt and can shear off, then it can be a very expensive repair...........reline is the only way I can give gaurantees + of coures up to 3 rebores, use only a proper Honda piston(

    140 or 150 is not the way to go..................simply reline 64.5mm piston for a 180 kit, 25% power increase, just tune carb to suit, kits bigger than this are lumpy and oilways have to be redirected, (more expense) kits available of the shelf exchange for
  14. Has been done before to Montesa by PORTUS a well known preparator around Barcelona, he used a Sandglass 4 stoke head mounted on 348 Montesa, going back around 20 years, was a very nice thing.

You are very much 'so right' big John and I would like to add 'I don't think there is any way back'....................but if its any consolation the twinshock lads have seen the pitfalls brought on by the pre 65's (not entirely the fault of the riders/builders) and have stayed away from, shall we say 'up dating' bikes............with a few exceptions...............as I am sure you know the Spanish twinshock classes cater for pre 72 pre 77 and twinshocks, I have always thought that the pre 65 only class was an error and (as in motocross) should include a pre 60's class and as for 'if continental bikes conform' has little bearing on the trials we have..............here you travel far and wide and its more of a reunion/get together .........ok p*** up ! We all know who the winners are going to be so lets 'admire the latest resturation', light the bbq and who's got a bottle opener...................? And if you want proof and wonderful hospitality get youself down to the 2 day trial (end of Oct) at Cabrianrs 60 kms north odf Barcelona, this the Mecca of twinshoch trials.........book a table at 'El Cafe' large helpings pork rabbit and bouden (black puddin to you big John) washed down strong Spanish wine.................. finish of with a stroll down to the 'house of ill..................................so who gives a **** about the fiddle forks in M***'s bike............................see you there..............................! May I add my thoughts on this suject...................AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THIS......................You will find a number of genuine pre 65 trial bikes converted from road/trail/farm bikes all over europe that are more eligible than most of the british pre 65 bikes that are entered for the pre65 2 day Scotish. They range from BMW's NSU's JAWA MOTOBECANE DUCATI's FOLLIES PEUGEOT BULTACO MONTESA just to name a few, and I have a number of examples.........................

    Engine Swap

    The only real problem with the 242 MONT is the gearbox, bearing in mind that the basic bottom end motor is the 123 it can be fragile (same for the bigger 330) shafts tend to twist, very slightly making gear changes difficult, 1st is very low and lends itself to this problem when changing down, take care and you've got a really good twinshock and last of the real Montesa's.................
