  1. Here's to hoping. I bought the bike when I was working part-time… now I'm working 7 days a week! Sheesh.
  2. Thanks for the quick responses! I suspect that mine may have the "hole-less" swing arm that Lineaway is speaking of. It's snowing a blizzard here right now (after 50 degrees and sunny yesterday) so will have to have a go at it later on but have previously looked all over the underside of the swing arm and couldn't find any mounting holes. Maybe it's just best to leave it off anyway... And Dan, I don't know if this is your old bike or not, but you sure helped me out with some carburetor issues it had a year or two ago! Thanks again!
  3. Ok, I know we've been over this before, but I really need some help. I have (supposedly) a rev3 kickstand that I can't find an attachment point for on my beta. I know there is supposed to be a couple of holes under the swing arm to attach it to but I don't seem to have them. The attachment plate just doesn't seem to make any sense at all. Can anyone post a photo of where it is actually mounted? I had a welder friend of mine come look to see if it could be re-fabricated. He said a lot of welding work went into the bracket attachment piece but he couldn't figure it out either. It's got to be the wrong part…. Anyone?
  4. So guess what. My 2000 beta rev3 doesn't even have the pre-drilled holes in the front of the swing arm. There is absolutely no place to attach this bracket (which, turns out, is for a newer beta). The parts diagram for the 2000 and the 2001 show exactly the same bracket AND part number. You can't tell what the bracket should really look like from that dinky little picture though. It probably doesn't match what I have here. Does anyone have a 2000 beta rev3 250 that has a kickstand on it? Can you let me know where it attaches and maybe post a pic of the bracket?
  5. Ok, so I thought I was all set, until the bracket came. I cannot find anything on my bike that match this bracket. I'm not sure if it's even the right piece for this bike as the dealer shipped it without a part number attached. My bike does not even have the pre-drilled holes under the swing arm. I'm not sure what to do with it now... Any suggestions??? Anyone???
  6. Thanks anyway... I found two of the three parts with a local dealer and ordered the bracket, so all set now.
  7. Ok, so just in case anyone was following my part of this post... and this shows it was my first carb... the main jet came out fine, it was the needle jet that was stuck and it came out with some gentle tapping all the way to the bottom (had gunk holding it in place). The pilot jet is one of the first places to clog - not the needle jet - and it was fine. When you put it all back together, IF you happen to replace the throttle cable, don't forget to back off the throttle adjustment at the carb! All is well now and running smoothly. I had a spot of tea along the way also.
  8. Levels - do you have a part number or company info for the stand you bought? I have the same bike and no stand.
  9. Yikes toofasttim, I'm glad your living in Australia and not in my neighborhood!
  10. Thanks! And btw, I'm a girl. Old girl maybe, but I refuse to grow up :-)
  11. Maybe it's because I didn't stop for tea...
  12. Dan Williams! I need help! I'm in the process of cleaning my carb, following your directions - I've gotten all the way to the main jet and cannot get it to come out. I've sprayed carb cleaner all around it, in it; tried pushing it a bit - nothing. First, which way should it come out, toward the float bowl or away from it? How can I tap it out without damaging it? I can't get the needle jet out until I get the main jet, correct? In the meantime, I've hosed the whole thing down with carb cleaner and aired it but everything looked really pretty clean so far, I want to make sure I get the needle jet checked since that's one of the first places to clog. Please help - it's all in pieces and the longer I wait, the less I'll remember putting it back together.
  13. Hi All, I'm new to trials. I'm coming from trail riding and dual sport. I have had (over the past 30+ years) an old honda 360 scrambler, a suzuki GS550L, a honda XL650R, a honda Hurricane 600, a Hurricane 1000, a VFR700 and currently I have an '89 honda transalp that has been everywhere from highway to logging trails. It is a most excellent all-around bike. Also have a TTR-250 for playing in smaller trails, an NX250 (little brother to TA), a honda fourtrax quad and my "new" 2001 Beta Rev3. I'm 50 years old and am fascinated by trials. I bought my Beta and started by standing on the pegs (engine off) and balancing in place. I've done 30 minutes at a time. Next I've been working on riding as slow as I can go - beginning to stop, hold my place, then go again. Also starting to do figure eights, smaller and smaller. I've managed to get this done in a few hours here and there so think maybe I have enough natural talent to get somewhere with this... if only to make my trail riding more skillful. So, hello everyone - I'll be asking questions!
