Hi
Antifreeze / water mix @ 50/50 and it has anti-corrosive properties as well. ATF works very well.

Also slow posting - See above Ha Ha

Hi
Now i,am a bit old to be learning the metric system, but even I know that cc,s measure volume and millimetres measure length - Now if you mean millilitres??? They are the same as cc,s so 450cc is the same as 450mils. I stand to be corrected by anyone who was taught the NEW fangled way!!!

Hi
No need for heat, they pop out easily - You might want to prise off both rubber seals and re-pack with good quality waterproof grease.Cheers
-
Hi
The way i do it is- Get a punch or old screwdriver and hit the spacer over 1/4 inch then flip the wheel over and hit on the lip you,ve just made and out pops the bearings. There is a small lip/groove on both ends of the spacer - file off one of them when you re-install it - it makes it easier next time, but remember/ or mark which way you put the filed end.Cheers

Yep great trial - especially the graded hill climb, my type of section - not a lot of skill involved - just hang ON!!!
-
Hi, nothing too hard in doing these -Just follow the instructions on the Sherco USA website [ RYP] Make sure everything is nice and clean and use a vice to push the bearings out and to replace them -Job done.

Hi
You do,nt say which part of the country your from so i cant give specific points. but if you can pick up Trials + motorcross news at your local papershop [out on fri] and look in the Whats on section in the back, and see if there are any trials on localy - pop along to a trial and speak to the organisers and they will point you in the right direction or look on the ACU website for the phone number for your nearest club. I wish i took up trials when i was severn!!!

If your stuck in the future, try finding a bolt with a head size that matches the internal dimensions of the tops, then either weld a tee or use mole grips -Just a thought
-
Try using a blowlamp carefully on the pads and disc, i had contaminated mine with WD40/ chain lube - the pads caught fire but soon went out and good for another few trials.
-
Have a pratice on the old box you changed - nothing to lose
-
Hi i have a 05 290 and when i first pulled the airbox off and re fitted it, i had the same as you,but could get the screws in with a bit of playing around.I did,nt feel comfortable thinking i might strip the brass inserts,so i enlarged the two holes in the rear supporting bracket and now it fits like a glove. No doubt some might say you should,nt have to do this, but it makes life easier.
PS only undo the rear jubilee clamp[ nearest the airbox] leaving the rubberhose still conected to the carb and ligthtly oil the airbox outlet when refitting.

And who said the French were stupid!!!! Nice to see a honest write up.

I've tried the sealer ontop of the rim tape and despite high quality marine sealer and careful cleaning, my wheel still looses air from the spokes. The next thing I am going to try is; as Bigfoot says, rim tape off and sealer on the spokes first.
It only goes down 1psi a day so I can put up with it until the next tyre.
Put in some tyre sealant - Goop /Dr sludge - and forget about it,when you come to change tyres, scoop it out and put it in the new tyre -Job done
-
Have a look in this sites classified ads section
-
I am sure they advertise in TMX
-
I would,nt think the conection should be slack enough to turn, is it leaking any fluid? If fluid can get out - air can get in.Position the hose exit to suit -tighten it up and reverse bleed it.

Prefered the swiming one Malc!!

Could you gasser boys help please - my mates 99 321 sometimes backfires when restarting after walking a section -Always starts - same power -nothing been touched ingnition wise.A few weeks ago he left the petrol on for a couple of days and had trouble starting it,so now turns it off every night, my thoughts are - floats letting petrol through when stopped and backfiring because of fumes in exhaust? A carb clean is on the cards, any suggestions welcome Thanks
-
I do,nt want to start a MINES BETTER THAN YOURS !!! thread, just my own views for what their worth -05 290 -oil change every month - top quality 2st oil - check/clean air filter every ride = no breakdowns/problems in the 2 years of owning it and still looking good.
-
I,am with you on this scorpa3 - arrows every time.
