  1. Thanks Bruce, I will check it out.
  2. it's a 98 txt 270. I have some free movement on the lever but not as much as you say. I will slacken it off a little more.
  3. I'm suffering with clutch drag, not alot, but enough to make the bike want to creep a little. I've replaced the clutch plates, fitted a new push rod, bled the clutch, and filled with 5 - 30 oil. Still it drags. I'm going to remove the clutch plates and the centre drum but don't know how the outer basket comes off(going to check for groves on fingers) Can anyone help?
  4. What will I need by way of lights, speedo, horn etc?
  5. Many thanks to everyone who contributed. With the insurance coming in at only
  6. Thanks for the info, I must admit it does seem a lot of agro to sort it all out. The reason I wan't to reg. it is because there is some land only a half mile away where I can practice. May be not worth it !!!
  7. do I need to insure it and send the certificate, or can I insure it after I've got a V5? After I get it registered I will then need an MOT. I've heard people talk of daytime MOT's, can anyone explain? What will the bike require for the mot, lights, brake light, horn etc? Thanks.
  8. Have you got any contact details, I'm looking for insurance on my TXT 270.
  9. Can anyone tell me how to go about getting my gasser registered? What will I need to do etc. Also, where can I get insurance? Thanks.
  10. Thanks for the info. I have put the plates in the way you said. I did notice the marks but didn't know they needed to be put on in a special way!!! I will have to take it apart again and line them up. I have run the engine for a short while, will this damage anything?
  11. I've had to replace the clutch plates on my TXT 270 but I've not sure in what order they go on. I have 7 fibre plates and 6 steel plates and 1 half steel and half fibre plate. Looking at it carefully I think the half/half plate goes on last with the fibre outermost !!!! When I started the bike up and put it in gear I almost wheelied through the back of the shed. Is this the correct way
  12. got my black tube on order
