  2. Hi Check for corrosion build up between stator coils and flywheel. I had a stator meter out perfect but no spark. I cleaned off the corrosion and all was fine. Geebee
  3. Hi Re fitting bash plate. With the earlier Shercos, I start the underneath bolts, then use a long bolt in one side at the front. I pull the plate up with these, then fit the missing front bolt and then exchange the long bolt. This works for me.
  4. Hi I would ensure the small airway from the back of the carb is clear. This feeds the pilot jet. Blow out with air from front of carb backwards through syatem. The mixture at partial throttle relies on the pilot system operating. Because you are having to turn in the slow speed screw and the macine is running lean I would certainly check the pilot system. 5. Hi everyone Interesting about the shocks on the 2010 model. Whether it was because of the required location for adjusting the spring tension, below the exhaust, or some other reason, after the spring had settled we ran out of adjustment before we could achieve the required sag. A 3mm spacer was machined and fitted and the suspension now works fine. ps the bike carries in excess of 15 stones. Geebee
  6. I believe some of these models had a problem with the fuel tap. Have you tried running it on reserve. The Sherco site covers a modification.
  7. Pop the bike into gear while rolling and then with the clutch lever pulled in apply the rear brake. Clutch will then clear. Works for most trials bikes

    Mini Majesty

Hi Many years ago I built a mini majesty using all new parts. The main changes were to shave the front of the barrel and modify the exhaust to fit the frame, We then extended the swinging arm by about 25mm and moved backwards and lowerd footrests. To suit the extra length we fitted a TY250 rear mudguard. Decent shockers were also fitted. My lad rode the machine in B class before switching to a mono. Geebee
  9. Hi I use mountain bikers " No Tube" tape on top of spokes, then add latex type sealant over tape. I then dust rim seal with talc, add latex under valve and fit seal starting at valve. This is the only way I have been able to seal tubless tyres. Check out www.justridingalong.com Geebee

    2010 Sherco

Hi Thanks for all your sugestions guys. I do however think that the photo makes it look worse than it actually is. I see the structural integrity being only partially reduced and well within any safety allowance of the design. I have decided that as it is not broken, I will not fix it. However to reduce future further damage, I will implement Ishys remedy. (My lad was talking with Ishy on the ferry on Friday) Although for the bottom clamp to hit the frame tube, the radiator has to be dislodged, that sharp edge must still constitute a Sherco design failure. Next job is to check the radiator as it did need a little coolant in the latter days of the six. Best Regards Geebee

    2010 Sherco

Hi It was a big off in Scotland. It happened on the track on Wednesday up to Mamore Road but the bike finished the week. A visual inspection shows no damage to the bars but the rider was somewhat detuned. Other damage includes a dented fuel tank and scars on the exhaust. Work now begins to put things right

    2010 Sherco

Hi Has anyone designed a strengthener plate for the down tube? Our 2010 has a dent where the bottom yoke has hit the down tube. Seems like a common problem with the 2010 Sherco. I have thought about epoxying a half pipe 1/2"nb sch 10s SS over the dent.
  14. Hi Again Also check that the floats are correctly orientated. Flat to bottom of float bowl. A good check is to give the carb a gentle shake after reassemby and hear the floats move.
  15. Hi Have you checked the floats are not punctured. I had a float fill with fuel which caused a similar problem.
