  1. Hi thanks for the replies ,, i think i will get it all back together and try it as it was running ok before we stripped it. if i get any problems we will strip down the engine as i have done many mx two strokes before so wont be a problem
  2. Hi there i have just got hold of a i think a 95 techno as a first project for me and my 11 year old son whch is going to be used as a spare for when family want to ride with us. The bike had been in a shed for two years but surprisingly started first kick even on the old fuel and ran and rode pretty good. We have stripped the bike and have found the usual bearings and seals that need replacing but when checking the engine over we have noticed there is some side to side movement on the crank assy probably around a couple of millimeteres.there is no up down play just if you get hold of the flywheel you can move it in and out slightly.everything seems tight and cannot find nything loose but at the moment have not got a puller for the flywheel to investigate further. So my question for you more experienced Beta guys is this float on the crank normal on this model or do i need to carry on and strip the engine? Thanks
  3. Thanks Guys i will check all the things you have suggested and a new throttle cable has arrived today so hopefully i can get it sorted
  4. Hi i am a newbie to trials starting in January and have an 014 250 evo , when out riding sunday a more experienced expert rider commented that my bikes revs where taking a long time to drop when the throttle was shut, so when you shut the throttle the revs seem to take a few seconds to drop to tick over we checked air screw and plug and all seemed fine. The throttle cable does not seem to be sticking as you can hear the slide returning when the throttle is shut. Any ideas from you more experienced guys in what i should look for as far as i know the bike is standard and running a flywheel weight and slow throttle. Thanks for your help
  5. i just used duckswax on my new boots after getting them plastered in mud and soaking for the last two weeks. Very impressed after this weeks outing the water just ran off the boot and when i returned any mud just washed off easily leaving a clean and oiled boot. would definately recommend, a bit pricey i got mine off ebay but enough to do lots of boots in the tub so well worth the money
  6. Hi Thanks or all the replies it has very interesting reading them all i only had one weight with the bike and refitted it and on my first outing did not have any real problems but as a complete novice at the moment i am still learning. I will though once i have had a bit more experience and try reducing the weight and also riding without it to find what i prefer.
  7. Hi Guys thanks for the replies looks like everyone recommends putting it back on so i will do this tomorrow
  8. Hi i have just purchased a 014 beta evo 250 as my first bike as a newbie to the sport, the previous owner has taken off the flywheel weight but has given it to me in a bag of spares with the bike. As a complete novice to trials do i need to put it back on or is it better to learn without it? What is the benefit of having the weight installed? the former owner was a very experienced trials rider so i want to make sure i am not going to have trouble by leaving it off Any advice will be greatly received as this is all new to me Thanks Andy

  11. Hi There i am just starting to look at getting into trials as a newbie and my ten year old son wants to get a bike as well. he has had an oset 16 but this has got too small or him but i do not know what to buy him next. we want to practise but but also do some club trials as well Do i go for an oset20 or do i go down the petrol engined route with a 50cc or 80cc geared or auto? he did ride a 65cc motocross bike and had an auto before that so i think he would be ok getting used to having a clutch please help all advice welcome as i do not have a clue on youth trials Thanks
  12. Hi Everyone i am based in Droitwich worcestershire and looking to by a bike very soon and if anyone has any advice on bikes (budget will be up to 2k) and places to practice near me i would appreciate it. I have a lot of experience at motocross and enduro and was chairman of an mx club for a while down south but i did have a scorpa 250 a couple of years ago before i moved to Droitwich from Dorset. Looking for something a bit slower now i am older but would really like to eventually join a club and compete in some club trials locally if possible. i look forward to meeting some of you in the future Cheers Andy
