  1. I agree it's a chance you gotta take but I just went down hill so fast. Its had the new piston n barrel, it's also had new stator, impeller and thermostat just need to sort cdi and leaky tank
  2. I should have stated it didn't melt the whole impeller but the metal insert is all loose and plastic all in the groves of the seal but riding streams in winter t your first thought is the steam is from the water splashing on the hot engine and exhaust. You should only fill to the top of the fins
  3. I've got a 17 RR 250 and okay I bought it used in June. I feel your pain and am living a similar nightmare. Another Friday bike. Its currently sat waiting for a new cdi as its delaminated and causing running issues. A new tank as it leaks where its moulded for the tap. It's only just had a new stator as the old 1 had corroded and was causing starting issues(not covered under warranty as it had gone rusty). It's partly melted the water pump impeller(metal insert is all loose with the recess in the seal full of melted plastic)where it boiled over due to yet another thermostat failure another impeller just split. Noticed the Bush in the chain tensioner goes very easily aswell. It did sieze once aswell (sort of my fault, no lanyard) but that was down to previous owner not seating the o-ring on the thermostat correctly n the coolant dripping out. I never noticed the loss of coolant and had a off. It seized in a few seconds without coolant and broke another impeller Tbf when it runs it grips n rides lovely but seems everytime it comes out to play something goes tits up on it
  4. Cheers baldilocks. Hoped I could do it without buying a impact gun.
  5. Hey Bilko that's how I secured it to remove the first lot bolts lol. The basket isn't turning but the nut and plate(with arrow) are both turning. It's in gear but still spins
  6. Hi my sons 80 has been stood for a year and the plates have stuck. I've freed them but they've gone sticky and keep sticking back together so need a clean. Can anyone tell me how to get this bolt out so I can remove the clutch plates. The bolt is just turning. Thanks
  7. Hey how did you get that bolt out. I'm trying n it's just turning. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated
  8. all working now. Put a new thermostat in then connected the white wire with female bullet connector from rectifier too the wire on thermostat wire with male bullet connector (some rectifiers have two yellow wires instead of a yellow and a white) and earthed the other thermostat wire. Like in this diagram. thanks for your help guys.
  9. the female bullet(white wire to rectifier) is the only one that's been altered (earthed to frame) from what I can see. The other wire on thermostat looks like a earth wire
  10. I have the two wires coming out of the thermostat ( both black ) but don't know where they connect to. Its a thermostat in the top of the rad not a inline one
  11. Hiya everyone. I bought a 2010 pro and the thermostat has been bypassed and its been wired so the fan is on constantly. I want to wire it back in with a new thermostat. can anyone tell me where the thermostat wires connect please. thanks
  12. hi guys really need some help. his has probably been discussed before but cant find the thread. I have a 98 TX270 and need to set the front n rear suspension properly. I'm only a novice rider but would like to get the mist out if my bike and know if the suspension is nit set right then the bike wont ride so well. I've got the red and the black high speed adjusters on the fork all the way out and on the rear I've got the clicker in the middle. I also think there is to much sag. I have attached a image of the sag measuring from the center of the spindle to the mudgaurd. Thanks in advance
