  1. Wire wool and "Brasso" used to work a treat on my Triton if you just want a working bike look and no show pony.
  2. Thanks for the replies gents. So, to me, it looks like I rode the right class that day for my skill level, but I need to be aware of how different clubs/events grade their sections + weather conditions. Scores may go up (a little) or down but as long as it's still fun I'll keep going. Oh Iconic, you forgot to mention the fouled plugs!
  3. How do you decide which course you should enter? I entered the Novice (red in Kent) route for my first trial scoring in the low 100's for the 44 sections The coarse was safe, do-able and to me challenging, but fun, so is being last a reason to drop down a class?
  4. Thanks for the encouragement gents, and by the way rabie, it was the yellow route I struggled with! See you at the fourstroke trial Sunday iconic558
  5. I've been riding bikes for 40 yrs now so I thought it was about time to have a go at getting muddy. I picked up an old Fantic the wednesday before Christmas and entered my first trial on the 27th. Possibly a little under prepared, I managed two laps of 10 sections before retiring, exhausted, with a fairly respectable cricket score! Getting the bike up to speed will be a lot easier than doing the same with the rider, but Hey, someones got to be last.
