  2. Market Drayton (ACU) and Acorns (AMCA) both fairly close to you. Gresford and Aqueduct are both classic clubs based around Llangollen but allow riders on modern bikes to ride. Be prepared to travel a bit with trials riding, nature of the beast I am afraid..... Have fun!

    Hi there, Does anyone know when the 125 TRS will be available to buy and what the approximate cost will be? Website and all the blurb said they would be available from September 2017 but not seen any advertised at dealers etc........ Thanks in anticipation

  5. Welcome to the sport also, I agree with the previous post it's very addictive and great fun. I had a KTM 990 and 1190 but got fed up of dodging car drivers controlled by Sat Navs etc and now own a Gasser 125 and TRS 250. The 4RT is a good bike, take it steady, learn the basics well and if you fancy it enter a local club trial. Keep those feet up and enjoy yourself.......
  6. Just my opinion but I would not go anywhere near a Sherco 290, I had one a few years ago and it was the most brutal and unforgiving engine I ever had the misfortune to experience. Take my advice, start on a small engine machine 125/200 and you will be riding the bike and not the other way around. I have a 2015 Gas Gas 125 (I am 5 10 and weigh 84kg) and a 2016 TRS 250, both lovely bikes to ride and control and very capable machines in their own right. For the average club level rider a modern 125 will do everything you need engine wise and are nice and light to boot. Learn to use a small capacity engine properly and when you step up to a 250 for example you will find it easy to make the adjustment. In my opinion there is far too much macho crap talked regarding large capacity engines, start small and work up when experience and money etc allows Enjoy your riding and keep those feet up )) .....
  7. Hi, great little bikes and a brilliant way to get into trials in my opinion, a 125 is more than enough for a new rider and won't rip your arms out like the bigger capacity stuff. I had an 05 Sherco 125 loved every minute of riding it. As for what to look out for nothing really springs to mind just the usual stuff, does it start, idle and run ok, no nasty noises, does the fan work, are the brakes, chain/sprockets, tyres etc ok. It might be a good idea to take someone along who knows a bit about trials bikes, usually helps. Hope this helps.....
  8. Massive respect for the last post, you are so right! I remember watching him back in the day at Hawkstone Park in the UK when Motocross was not the outdoor Supercross it is today. A proper "hard man" of the old school.......vila i frid Carla.
  9. With the utmost of respect I was not comparing, merely stating that in my humble opinion the trials guys are true heroes. I was at Tong last weekend and have been to many World Championship rounds in the UK over recent years. The riders wearing nothing but a thin Lycra suit and open face helmet risk serious injury and possibly worse in every single section. I appreciate that Moto GP/Superbike riders travel at incredible speeds and have incredible talent but they have the relative luxury of track run offs and leather suits fitted with the very latest air bag systems etc etc. I will stick with my opinion and you stick with yours.......

I was lucky enough to get to watch the World Championship round at Tong last weekend with a couple of friends and can honestly say that in 40 years of watching all types of motorcycle sport it was the best I have ever seen. The things that Mr Bou, Raga and Dabill etc can do with a motorcycle defies belief....forget Rossi, Marquez and the like, in my opinion these guys are the true Heroes of powered two wheel sport.

  12. Hi there, sorry to hear about your mum too but if it encouraged you to get into trials then that's brilliant. Hope you get on with the Sherco 290, I had one a few years ago and it pulled my arms out. Just my personal opinion but smaller engines are easier for new riders and let you learn the basics without being intimidating. I ride a TRS 250 and I also have an 05 Sherco 125 which is perfectly competitive for most club trials. Good luck and welcome to the best motorcycle sport there is!
