  1. I'll get a o'scope and check this out before I tear into it. I can also test/eliminate the kill switch at the same time. You think the o'scope can see anything with the CDI?
  2. Did the stator fix your problem (x2) then the CDI failed? Who is the best place to get the stator?
  3. Here's what happened, maybe someone has had a similar problem.... I was cursing up a mountain road (top gear/mid-high throttle) and when I started to slow down it acted like it was starving for fuel. When I dropped into a lower gear it acted fine at the higher RPM's, but once the RPMs got low it started to die (again sound like it was starving for fuel. I pulled off the road and checked the fuel and it was fine, but wouldn't start this was the last time it has ran. I rebuilt the carb thinking it was a clogged jet or something. I replaced the plug & have a spark but it looks a bit weak to me and will only start after lots of kicking. Once it starts it will start to rev up high for only a few seconds and die. Does this sound like one of the symptoms of a bad stator? One of my friends thinks it could be the trigger? (because it fires when kicked fast) Is there anyway to check the stator with a meter to verify if it's good or bad? Thanks, Dean

    `02 Rev 3 Carb size?

I'd really like to soak it in some carb cleaner, but since the gasket is "glued" to the main body I can't do this.
  5. I've got my carb off and going to clean it. I'd like to know what size the carb is in case I need a bowl gasket. From what I'm seeing it looks to be a VM26. This is for an`01 Beta 250 Rev 3 Not an `02.

    More Beta Power

Try and repack your tail pipe, that will give you low end power. When I got mine used I pulled off the whole exhaust system. Had the main pipe vatted to remove carbon buildup, then I burned out the center with a torch & used a wire brush to get the burned crud out. Repacked the muffler and it was real nice afterwards. You can do this for cheap. But this will help the low-end mostly. DMX
  7. I found my swing-arm bolt had stripped. So I ordered a new one and was wondering how tight to make it? Is there a torque speck on this aluminum bolt? Thanks, DMX
  8. The trouble with tap water is it all different. Specific gravity, menials etc. my well water might be just fine, but the city
  9. I TIG welded mine using stainless wire. The steel piece polished like chrome when done.
  10. I welded mine when it broke. You are talking about the washer that

    Pinging Conundrum

The best scenario would be to set the bike up for the altitude you ride at & the fuel octane you plan on using all the time. If you have timing set for a low octane and you put in the 108+ octane, then you will not see much difference other than you wallet is lighter. However if you have the timing set for the 108 it will run real well. Then if you put in some of you friends lower octane gas then it will run like crap. It

    04 Rev 3

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I am also going to do my forks, probably this weekend. I did a search and found what Billy T mentioned about using 2.5 in the re-bound and 5 weight in the compression. Do you think this will work well for a 170 lb person? I also know a couple of people using ATF in the forks. I have not seen any thing on here about that. The people I
