    Montesa Cota 242

Tbh on mine once the points was set up correctly i never had a problem with them, the engine is just weak on low end throttle range, if this electronic ignition can race the engine up like the fantic engine does i can see the 242 becoming abit more popular.

  3. If you go into the renting agents and put down 6 months rent in advance on the table they won't ask for credit statements, 6 months is the standard contract here.
  4. Yer unfortunately classic trials is killing itself. Now you can pick up a good mid 2000yr modern bike up for under a grand,if i was starting out this is where i would go.
  5. The way i read it is he was only asked to be guest of honour, i think that meant opening the trial not riding it, then he asked to ride it, what would you say to him if it was your event. Im not sure why people were expecting national Tv to turn up.
  6. Unfortunately Everything from Braketec seems suspect quality. Changed the caliper piston seals with Braketec every seal leaked, managed to find some original AJP seals no leaks.
  7. The pro thieves are using trackers also, they dont need to follow you back, they just drop a tracker on you and watch.
  8. It seems to be getting the name "The Telford Tax".
  9. Now now before jumping to conclusions if his team were wearing the wheels round there necks they could have just been making an innocent fashion statement.

Looks like a French public convenience.
  11. Nah this would have been a better fitting soundtrack.
  12. This bloke might be worth a shot http://www.inmotiontrials.com/contact-us/ i know he has a lesser bike name written over he's website but i think your find he knows he's way around a Fantic.
  13. Hahaha, A pregnant match stick.
  14. Im not surprised he got the needle, have you never ordered the Number 5.
  15. I would of left him alone from the start, anyone putting a radiator next to an aircooled cylinder and passing it off from coming from the same bike is gonna be a pillock somewhere along the line. I see the parts are up for decent money now so you probaly got stiffed from the bidder you beat as he more than lightly mailed the seller telling him he had more value sitting there than what it sold for, jealousy and all that.
  16. You youngsters are to much, it comes from a glass bottle, cor.
  17. now if we told the kids today that the milk came in a real glass bottle they would'nt believe us.
  18. If you can look towards a ford or Vw for small van. Them old kangoos are made from french chocolate. When i had one it went through 4 gearboxes within 40k miles.
  19. But the 40 plus generation are the ones keeping trials alive and if we really want to face the truths it has been for donkey years. Trials has allways lost many of its youngsters at 16 or earlier and not allways for the reasons spoken about here, never mind maybe we will see them back in a bike in 25 years time.
  20. I use one of these if i just want to start up bike if sat in the workshop. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2011-YAMAHA-YZF-R-125-COOLANT-TANK-HEADER-BOTTLE-/221182236688?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item337f7d1810
  21. Sometimes our friends in the trials business make it hard for us to support them, Sorry £75 notes for a simple tool is rape. You can make your own if you have 2 old metal plates and one fibre plate ( if you need to buy them new it will still be cheaper than the tool they have.), i put the fibre plate inbetween the 2 metal plates and bolt them together and then you need to make a bar up. Your work it out.
  22. A very good programme it was too and with the SKA man Suggs as presenter put the cherry on top, i can imagine you had a few laughs filming. Sorry i can't help you with your problem either.
  23. I have a TLM 50 road registered, that and the fantic 50 would come out the factory lighted up. I would imagine you would need to find some road legal tyres to put on and then get onto the right people to get it registered. If the chinks can get there bikes they send us road registered i would imagine you could get anything reg'd.
  24. Have you spoken to Northgate Bristol yet, you used to be able to hire there vans out using your own insurance http://www.northgatevehiclehire.co.uk/van_hire.html
