Being a portly chap and a reasonable clubman and looking for a new trials motorcycle, i have a 250 05 but wonder whether an upgrade to a 270 would help me on my way. I rode a 280 GG an it pulled me arms out. Does any one out there with a 270 have any advice on the power and rideability etc...

Many thankenyou's :D

I have a 07 270 and have taken the weight off, it depends what type of terrain your

riding, its better on the bigger stuff, i think it grips better than the 250, my mate got a 250

and it seems to spin out quicker than mine, this is my second 270, i had three 250.

As leggins could testify, I'm a big chap and my 04 beta 250 never lets me down, It will pull my lardy carcass up any hill as long as I give enough gas. I would try someone else's 270 to get a feel if you need that extra grunt. I had a quick play on a beta 4T the other day and that felt nice. Shame I've no spare cash for one of those!!!

Im not saying anything Leigh as I have a large yellow streak running down my back :D

I was about to spend some of my hard earned cash on a 270 rev3 which my mate was selling , When Dougie Pumpkins 250 rev 3 came on the market. Ive got to say at 6 ft 2 and 15 st the 250 has plenty of power , More than enough to drag me through the harshest of Yorkshires countryside. Although Doug Pump recomends 8 th gear for hillclimbs I am still having trouble getting past 7 th. Is there a trick to finding 8 th or have I been sold a lemon

cheers Leggins

I agree the 250 is sufficient for any thing other than big steps it grips like chuff

My trouble is that i know only 1 rev 3 270 on the island, though i did trial me old fellas old techno 270 when me gasser broke (typical)

Think a 250 with VHST carb should be good then. :D
