Rev3 "comfyride"

I like the idea of the Scorpa Longride and the similar setups available for the 4RT. I want something similar for my Rev3. Obviously there's not a lot you can do about expanding the fuel tank on a Beta unless you're up for a bit of extensive cutting and shunting (which I'm not) but there's always those fork-mounted auxiliary tanks. What I really want is an easily removable seat unit.

Before I start experimenting with sheets of plastic, a hot air gun and a hacksaw, does anyone know of anything similar that's already commercially available? Or maybe other SSDT-inspired solutions?

I do alot of riding in the mountains on my Rev 3 but don;t understand the need for a seat like that?? I guess if you're on long flat road/ fireroad sections maybe?

I carry fuel in some empty yop bottles in a snowboard back pack and you don;t know they're there and they will bail you out if needs be.

OK, cards on the table: I think I'm being talked into entering an enduro on the Beta (long story) and don't want to have to stand up for 2 solid hours' riding, especially on the faster bits. I'm also thinking about other practicalities like handguards and richer jetting etc. Maybe even a set of knobblies with appropriate mudguard spacers.

Also, being a fat lazy sod it might be nice to have something like this anyway :icon_salut:

AMCQ46: That's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for but instead of zip-ties I'd like to use quick release rubber straps somehow. Do you know who makes those "generic" trials bikes seats?

I created one using a Kawasaki KX250 tall seat. I put a little seat foam underneath it and straped it to the chasis in two places. The mounting tabs at the back of the seat can be bent and mounted to the rear Beta fender bolts. I can email you a pic if you want.

Any local upholsterer should be able to put something together for you at a reasonable price. There's one local to me that does stuff for taxis that the lads have used with good results. As you don't have black cabs in Scarborough (if I remember right) there may not be such a vehicle specialist there.

Sorry mate, I have no other knowledge about the seat, I found it when searching e-bay for trials bits, but had logged onto USA site by mistake.

I can sadly admit that I use a bag of straw [from pet shop] and some bungy straps & tank tape as a seat when I convert the trials bike to teach my kids how to ride a motorbike. its not pretty, but it worked!

I guess that you will get laughed at with a straw seat, but as the only trials bike at the enduro they may laugh anyway. send a picture of the finished item, I may copy it as my kids are embarassed by the straw.
