Rev 3 Voltage Adjuster?

Hi, My son's '00 125 Rev 3 isn't getting any power to the fan. I've checked the feed from the generator and that's OK, the fan works fine when a separate power source is connected to it, I've shorted the wires from the thermostatic switch and still no go. I think the problem is with the 'adjuster' (ref Beta manual) which I'm guessing is usually known as the voltage regulator.

The one I have is only identified with the word ' TRANSVAL' and the numbers 896.

Does any bright spark...? have any idea how to test this or where I can get another one or alternative? or has anybody had a similar problem?

Thanks, Stoford.

hello. I had simaliar trouble with a 99 techno. i couldnt find an alternative source for the voltage regulator and got one from a Trials shop but the rectifer was also blown and you should check that .(if it has a sepparate one like the techno.). this only cost a few pence from a electronics supplier.

you can test it by using a voltmeter or multimeter as they are known, you can buy these in any descent diy shop and the setting should be on dc volts i would say which is the one with a straight line with a v next to it if its owt like mine and put the two wires onto the end of the voltage regulator and probably kick the bike over and see if it has a reading and if it does that aint your problem (p.s dont worry if you get a negative reading its just the positive and negative wires the wrong way round)
