I guess it depends on whats gone. i.e. if your doing the complete crank and rod rebuild up or just going to throw a new piston and rings in it!! I'd say it's worth doing as I cant see a single being that ££££.

Typical breakdown for typical jap stuff ( May bear little ressemblence to ROTAX)

Crank rebuild £15-£25 labour
Con rod kit £25-£35
Set of mains £25
Little end bearing £6

Piston and rings gudgeon pin and circlips £40-£55
Rebore for cast cylinder £15
Replate if nicosil £105

Gasket set £30-£40
However I dont know how much the bits for the rotax motor go for at the mo..So keep us informed on costs if you can. OH and picks of the blown motor would be helpful!!

I seen that the other day and I'm dead set on making one out of a 2000 sherco 125 I have here with a nackerd engine.

The engine in that does not sound like a genuine honda one , sounds more like a cheap pit bike engine or somthing.

Still well thought out though.

I have a strong feeling that this will have been something to do with Jon Bliss. He seems to knock out a steady flow of Jai Ling engined trials bikes, infact he rides one himself and they do seem to be very reliable.
