there a quite a number of shocks available for the ty175 as which is best is a hard one to answer as people have their own preference.
i personally use be Betor 360mm between centres with 40 pound springs and im very happy with them.
others to consider are rockshocks,falcon.

whichever shock you go for get the 360mm length these give a little more travel and if you put the top of the forks level with the top yoke you get a little more ground clearance. hope this helps Alan

Sorry to disagree with previous poster but 360mm shocks have same travel as 340mm shocks
Also disagree re advisability of sliding fork tubes down to top clamp - it makes the steering feel worse
Recommend 340mm shocks and standard position for fork tubes

:agreed: however if you want a recommendation then take whatever you see on here as "suggestions" and try them for yourself. Bike set up and that is what we are talking about here is a very personal thing. I have ridden many bikes that to me feel bloody awful and sometimes almost unrideable but the owner thought they were the dogs danglies. So suck it and see.
The Victor Meldrew of Trials Central. Dont believe everything you read about me because the truth is much much worse !! LOL

As I won't be riding mine much (bad back) I used cheap ones off eBay - http://motorcycleres...-progress.html. For the front, I believe standard is to have the forks 20mm protruding out of yolk. See http://motorcycleres...ks-update.html. There's a couple of reference images there too.
