How do you ride enduros with the restart format? Is time keeping/roll chart equipment needed?

you guys do enduros differently state side so i wouldn't like to say ....

I was told roughly you no longer need to keep such a close look on calculations of time/speed. You simply roll up to each marked section and hammer, and all nationals are held on a closed courses.
