125 Pro Fan Not cutting in

Run out of ideas 07 125 Pro fan won’t cut in
I’ve applied 12v straight to the fan and spins like new
Checked all wiring and earths, just fitted a new thermostat
Still won’t cut in , even replaced the black box that feeds power
to the fan with known working box , but to know avail fan still
refuse’s to cut in.

Anybody got any ideas ?

What black box did you replace was it the one on the fan cowl (rectifier) it wont be that one it is the one under the bottom yolk on the frame (regulator) the fan has a constant live to it all the time the thermo sender gives an earth

I recently had a problem with my regulator and had to replace it. replaced the thermostat too, when the wires were crossed the fan ran fine but it wouldnt start up.

in the end i went down the garden and gave the motor some hammer until either the fan kicked it or the coolant boiled over.

Luckily the fan kicked in but it had to get bloody hot!!

does it work if you just bypass the thermostat?

Much appreciated no1 didn’t realize the fan had a permanent live feed
from rectifier. I’ll try replacing regulator.
