1) Float level set correctly, but still leaks gas occasionally. Do the floats have a sticking problem on the Mikuni?

2) Leaking fork oil at base of fork - maybe a drip every 5 minutes. What do I need to fix?

thanks!

Mikuni carbs on betas are prone to leaking you need to make sure float valve aint sticking and i would recomend doing carb drilling mods! as for your forks there is allen key bolt that as a oring on it you will need to remove wheel spindle and you will see the bolt up through the hole in base of forks hope this helps!

Before you get into the whole carb drilling bit try just nippering a small hole near the top of the vent tubes. The reason the Betas pee fuel is the vent tubes are so long they end below the fuel level in the float bowl. The usual bouncing around on a trials bike occasionally causes fuel to get up into the vent tubes causing them to act as siphons. With a hole in the tube near the top the fuel just retreats back down into the float bowl. I've done it on at least four Rev3s and they have all stopped leaking fuel and show no ill effect. The Mikuni is a good carb but like most dirt bike carbs it was originally designed for the street where it wouldn't get bounced around so much or placed at such odd angles.

Update:

Fork leak cause found. Discovered that in '96 the lower mounts are threaded onto the fork legs. This is supposed to be a permanent installation, however they back out over time. Mine were loose over 2 full turns. I've heard that subsequent years with similar forks had a grub screw installed to keep this from happening. Leak gone for now, but I plan on removing, cleaning, and reassembling with some thread locker in the near future.
