It seems customary to introduce yourself, so I am doing a quick note to say hello.
I have discovered trials late in life and purchased a twin shock rather than a modern bike - old bike for an old bloke!
Have a 1977 Montesa 348, which has surprised me on a few occasions, but other than a couple of niggling problems has proven rock solid.
I am still very much in the 'L' plate stages of trials, but it is still a heck of a buzz to ride a bike on some of the terrain we practice on.
Any way to the point of joining initially - a question - does anyone know the reason for 'phantom neutrals' on a 348 gearbox? On some occasions the gearbox seems to slip into neutral, when you have passed 3rd or sometimes 4th. I did see a 348 advertised on e-bay where the seller highlighted the bike had this problem and what the cause (and simple cure) was, but I failed to make a note.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and looking forward to going through all the other stuff the site has to offer - never appreciated the scope Trials Central covered.
