Does anybody know where I can get a new one ?..... I know that there was one on e-bay recently, but that disappeared prior to auction finish.

I dont think there are any new ones left. If you get a good straight frame, it is relativly easy to build a "new" one althought it will be expensive. E.g. Rear Rim 70 quid (tubeless) stainless spokes, 60 quid a set, Tyres 150 pair, rebuilt 212 motor (either 240 ,241 or 243) about 600 quid, sand blasted parts 100 quid, powder coated frame about 100, silencer (WES) 55 quid, plus a good base bike (700 quid?

It is quite easy to get to about 2500 pounds. Dave rebuilt one and had it on here. It looked like new. Maybe look through the old posts and make him an offer????

Do you mean the chain tensioner pad 450-08-00-6260, or the swingarm pivot protective slipper pad 450-09-00-5250 that Lee was advertising?

is 1500 - 1600 now the benchmark for a trial ready 240?
the last two 'sold' on ebay have both bid to that price.
makes the spares prices seem almost acceptable.. gulp..

Does make you wonder don't it,is wanting to ride Twinshock Trial's becoming more popular and people are willing to pay top money to compete on one of the best Twinshock's availabe?

I know of a few that have gone for £2000+.

I think the price will climb, regardless of the finance crisis. And since I couldn“t read thet steve only wanted a slipper block, I started to list the prices above.

I reckon a brand new "240", obviously starting with a donor bike, rebuilding everything plus paint will come in at 2500. Thats cheap when compared to a brand new scorpa or the like. A good HT5 will not come in under 5000 and a Francis barnett with stoked motor about the same.

Personally I like them to ride and run well cos the cosmetics will allways get bashed around.

I see it like this. Restore a painting for thousands and hand it on the wall......

restore a trials bike and throw it at 3 feet rocks on sundays

Hi, I have just picked up a non molested 240 which is in pretty good nick ( straight rims and frame, no dents in the exhaust, no nasty rattles) for £400. Guess I got a bargain.
