Pre’65 Scottish Trial Secretary, Anne Gordon, reminds all riders that their acceptance forms and payment MUST BE RECEIVED BY FRIDAY 27 FEBRUARY 2009 to secure their entry or the offer to ride will be withdrawn and re-allocated to a rider on the reserve list. No reminders will be sent out so, if you have not received any communication from the Secretary regarding the outcome of your entry, please get in touch urgently. An alphabetical list of invited riders is posted on the SSDT website – www.ssdt.org or contact Anne via email
We would also remind all competitors who use tubeless rims of the rule quoted on the machine eligibility form that “If a tubeless rim is used the machine must be presented 1 hour before your start time to prove that a tube is fitted by loosening the valve locknut and depressing the valve. No rubber ‘O’ rings or ‘Dowty washers’ allowed under valve locknut. They may be checked throughout the trial.”

Pre’65 Scottish Trial Secretary, Anne Gordon, reports that, to date, she has had 5 withdrawals from the trial which means that the first 5 reserve riders have been lucky enough to secure a ride in the Silver Jubilee event and with still 5 weeks to go there is still hope for some.
There will be a limited number of Official Silver Jubilee T-shirts on sale at the event and anyone who wishes to reserve one can contact Anne by clicking here or by post to: Mrs Anne Gordon, Secretary Pre’65 Scottish Trial, Fairshiels, Blackshiels, Pathhead, Midlothian, EH37 5SX. T-shirts with embroidered logo will be priced at £10 each and are available in Small, Medium, Large and X-Large and cheques should be made payable to “The Edinburgh & District Motor Club Ltd”.
The Leven Centre in Kinlochleven have organised a Family Ceilidh with Ballochmyle Ceilidh Band for the local community and any trials competitors and visitors who wish to attend. The ceilidh takes place on Friday 1 May 2009 and tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £7.50 for OAP’s/Concessions and £2.50 for children. Tickets are available from The Leven Centre, The Village Store, Co-op and the Post Office in Kinlochleven. If you wish to book tickets, please contact Kirsteen at the Leven Centre on 01855 831190.

She was off like a rat up a drainpipe with my old Canon 10D yesterday at Kinlochleven and had a blast. Must admit this is pretty bloody good for a total newbie to DSLR's & Trials in general. Shame I only have one flashgun or it might have made the DL G2F Press release...

Pre-65 Scottish Trial Secretary, Anne Gordon, says that the number of reserve riders drafted into the trial after withdrawals has increased to 7 which is lucky for some and with only a week to go hopes may be fading for the other reserve riders. If any rider finds they are unable to compete, please get in touch with the Secretary as soon as possible so that riders on the reserve list can get the opportunity to ride even at this late stage and you are reminded that you cannot organise a substitute rider yourself.
The official programme has an increased number of pages this year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the trial but the price remains at £3.00. Programmes will be on sale in various outlets in Kinlochleven in the week preceding and during the trial so be sure to buy this excellent momento of the event.
The Edinburgh & District Pre'65 Committee would like appeal to all spectators to respect the countryside, take all your litter with you and, please
NO MINDERS OR UNAUTHORISED BIKES on the course.
These people jeopardise the future of this event because without the goodwill of the landowners there will be no trial to come and enjoy. We would like to wish all competitors good luck for the event and let’s hope the weather is kind to us.
Keep your feet on the pegs and enjoy.

Same story year in year out and there will probably be as many bikes on the cousre as previous years
No doubt Andy will be more than happy to share his normal photo collection on here to name and shame
Can we have the above statement in Spanish? the spaniard I approached last year and told him pleasantly that he shouldn't be on the course on his 4RT Montesa, he decided to have ''Selective Understanding'' of our language, so I addopted the more direct approach and told him to P**s off back to the car park you W**nker??? Think he undertood what I was saying, but chose to carry on.................made me feel better!!!
He was following a certain rider, why can't that rider(or any other rider, British, Spanish, French etc.) if found to have riders following on the Friday, made not to start on the Saturday with the observers given the No.s of the offenders so they can't do a sneaky??. Now that would p**s them off a bit and you know what it would be like gossip would spread faster than the ''Flying Scotsman'' make an example??
Long way to come to be excluded

We know about the problem in the past years, specially 2007, and the Pre-65 Commettee has informed us and asked for our cooperation for the 2008 and 2009 editions. I can assure you that the 15 Spanish pilots with an entry this 2009 are perfectly informed about this problem, and the 2 vans going to Kinlochleven from Spain for the Pre-65 (Sotobike Motoclub and Motocat Club vans) will NOT carry any bike for a follower. That also happened in the 2008 edition.
There where a couple of press bikes (one of them a 4RT) following the event, but FULLY AUTHORISED, insurred, licenced and SIGNED IN, to make Todotrial report ( http://www.todotrial...asico-total.htm THEN GO TO "Zona 2 - Competicion" and then to "Scottish 2 Days Pre-65") and reports for a couple of Spanish magazines.
This 2 AUTHORISED"pilots had the commitment to paying special attention in the Pre-65 route to report of any Spanish unauthorised rider following with a bike.
I can assure you last 2008 there where no Spanish followers with bikes in the Pre-65 route, and there will not be in the 2009, and if they are, we the 15 Spanish pilots will be the first to reproach their attitude and report about them.
The SSDT is a different story.....
