Hi everyone , ive just bought myself a new toy , its a 1983 125 professional (model tx 250) .Its a bit under powered but is really nice to ride. Anybody no if there are any wider footrests that will fit without too much work ( grinding welding etc). Also will the frame ,forks , engine bottom end be the same as the 240 ? .........Many thanks keith

Hmmnn...
Take a look at the engine #'s back under the carb ... I think you may have a 240 there , as I thought the 125's had minerelli engines .
Or maybe I'm completely confused which happens way to often !

Or it's a fm237 ? This may shed some light . http://www.fanticmotor.asso.fr/r02.htm

hi , no it says 124.4cc 250 on the engine but it does look near same as 240 , just wondered if crank cases are same and gearbox maybe .I think the 240 may have a larger flywheel ....

My mistake , I thought the 240 was the only Fantic produced motor made back then . Lee will know !!! I guess they made 2 125's at that time .?

The frame is virtually the same as the 240, no bar to protect the flywheel as its smaller, also swingarm on nylon bushes 18mmm not needle rollers on 20mm as 240. A very good mod is a 201 barrel and piston...156. Excellent bike. Some say better than the 240!! Westyfield has my old one and he finds that a "handful".

240 motor will fit or others with framework. see two threads above..last aircooled mono from Glenn

Spud put some rev 3 footrests on his std mounts without gringing, look for his thread. The airbox and exhaust are probaly 240, exhasut may be specific FM250 and will need changing for a 212 but not a 156 motor.

nice bike

Didn't they make a 125 which was the same as 200 with chain on other side and you could fit 156 top end. I bought and sold one then found out I could have converted it after I sold it.

Had a tear in my eye (nearly) looking through those Fantic pics! Can remember when the 1st black and orange "Section" came out and everyone thought they were amazing... until they realised what a pig they were to ride!!!
