:(

Hi there.

I've recently bought a TY250 Mono and almost fitted a towbar to the car.

Many years ago, I owned some nice TL's and I visited a local Trial at Hood Green in Barnsley last weekend.

Do any of the members know of places where it is legal to ride, without incurring the wrath of Plod and residents?

I believe that there is a site at Buxton, certainly Derbyshire, where trials machines can practice.

Any comments are appreciated and It will be good to meet with like minded people.

Kind regards, Simon

Ello Simon, the one in buxton is probably hawks nest, its £3 a bike for the day and its just off the buxton - leek road.

as for derbyshire, I ride at Burycliffe, however you need to be a member and membership is limited, im pretty sure there arent any places going but ill ask them tomorrow when im down there.

also, up north there is Bumpy in Leeds, Ive never been before but may be worth a look.

and if you dont mind a bit of a drive, theres Back Cowm Quarry at Rochdale, been once, absolutly huge place!

further south is earl shilton, very very good ground, really well maintained and only 50 quid for the year, they hold some really good trials there (including the 2-day trial on the 20th and 21st of this month).

If you want further details on any of these places, just ask.

I was at the hood green trial last weekend, had alot of fun and did better than I expected which was nice! it was my first barnsley trial too.

All the best

Tom

If toast always lands butter side down, And cats always land on their feet, What would happen if you buttered a cats back?

Wow!!

I'd like to thank you both for your brilliant replies.

It's been over 15 years since I last got my leg over and now that the towbar electrics are done, baffle packing ordered from the excellent

JK Hirst, looking good for a ride very soon.

The Barnsley Trials Club certainly does have a friendly bunch of people.

Do either of you Guys know if it's OK to "practice" at any of the sites, rather than (for the time being) take part?

All the best!
Simon
