As the title says who do you insure your evo with? My current broker does not recognise it and said to go to Norwich Union direct. Which I have done but I need a couple of quotes before I commit.

Wasn't there an ACU linked scheme or am I imagining that?

Thanks

Dave

Thanks. I tried them and I am waiting to hear back. They said they don't normally do road insurance but they would get a quote and get back to me.

Not an evo but i insured my new sherco 250 with bennetts. £120 TPF&T, 46 yr old rider, no no claims, only had full bike licence 2 months, good postcode and ground anchor 16mm high security chain brick garage, mileage limit of 500 miles.

They only recognised bike as Bultaco Sherco Trials 250, initially they refused to quote as Sherco Trials 250, so may need to lead the agent through the quote, maybe beta motor or whatever they have on their system, bennetts agent was not informed. HTH John

Dave,
Did you manage to insure your evo? I am interested as thinking of getting a 2010 evo and would like to register it.

Not yet as I am stilll not sure when the bike is arriving. I have had a couple of quotes though, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks I will give them a try. Sounds reasonable.

I insured my Scorpa SY250R through Carol Nash. It was added on to my road bike insurance for an extra £100 fully comp with maximum no claims bonus and included protected no claims, the bike had to be garaged but no extra security devices needed although i have fitted them. I am 42 yrs old, to insure it on its own Fully Comp was about £170. They had no problem recognising the bike but other insurance brokers did (FOOTMAN JAMES quoted me £394 fully comp and struggled to find it on their data base).

As the scorpa has been around for w while it isn't a problem, the evo will be the same in a few years. Spoke to a guy from bennets and he said they need an ABI number before they will insure.

Hi, just insured my brand new evo 125 with MCE, £127 TP&F with no, no claims, only full bike licence for 3 months, garaged, 46 yr old, one speeding. ONly other company that could quote me was bikesure at £160 some odd, they also provide the cover for my enduro bike and modified golf GTI, but this time miles out. No one else could even quote due to bike not being on databases yet, after about 1.5 - 3 hours of on line and on phone providing info.

Not a bad quote as I was £114 for my 09 250 sherco whihc is on all the databases and was insured online with bennets three weeks ago.
