Hi,
I went riding today at a local practice area in the midlands,
parked up next to a van with greeves signs all over it,
as we rode down we saw two new greeves being tested buy a top trials rider
I won't say who just incase I should not mention Who it was!!
I know there seems to be alot of negative people out there who have already knocked it!
But it certainly looked like it could cope with everything thrown at it!
Anyway it's good to see another bike manufacturer back on the scene and british company aswell!!
Let's hope they get more support!
Rij

Nice to hear there rolling, good that there paying out for top rider on board,i guess if they did'nt want us to know who's riding the bike they would'nt be at a public practice ground.

Its getting on since they first came out with the news to which is over shadowed by Ossa. Still great to see British can make something and wish em well. Has the colour scheme changed as it looked awful to me on the pics.

In 1957 many looked in disbelief (I was one of them) when Bert Greeves and Derry Preston Cobb wheeled out the new Greeves Scottish Trials bike, this bike quickly caught on and started to dominate the UK Trials scene attracting the top British riders of the day, followed by riders changing to the revolutionary Greeves design - just wait a while - a few major National Trials wins notched up with this new Greeves will ensure the same success as the early Greeves Scottish Trials bikes and its derivatives - I would love to see one compete in the forthcoming SSDT - it has a great heritage. a new british bike designed and built by british engineers in collaboration with a british university and it's students - let this be the start of a resurgence of british bikes, not old school retro bikes but new innovative specialist bikes

good luck to them and lets all get behind them

modernise the old Greeves logo though

Unless they buck their ideas up and sort it out so it doesn't resemble a Sherco I can't see enough sales, nostalgia won't be enough in 2010.

6500???? Are they sure???
That'll be the end of Greeves then! Why come back into a niche market, with an unproven bike and charge 40% more than the established Proven players? Daft ain't the word!

How do we know Greeves arn't just setting themselves up to compete at WTC,BTC level and if they sell afew bikes on the way thats a bonus.
As a motorcycle company do greeves have more disposable income than the likes of gasgas or beta or sherco.
Greeves aint stupid they know how bad the economy is,they would of stoved this months ago if they was just set on trying to sell loads of bike's.
I like the way Greeves have operated, they've kept it all low keyed and promised nothing, typically British.

..and they have launched it twice at a classic show, said they have spent 100 k on development producing a sherco lookalike which is miles behind the ossa, yet offers little in innovation.
We are at the forefront of F1 and racing technology unlike the Spanish yet this effort whether "the british way" or not does not leave me wanting more.
Trading on nostalgia or britishness will it sell enough to keep the bike going in a market where scorpa failed?

All the bikes look miles away from the ossa, the question is will a front to back upside down bike work for the punters??
The lookalike sherco has been about for atleast a year and a bit,yet sherco hav'nt started shouting at Greeves, with Xispa, sherco was on the blower at Xispas first showing, whats diffrent with the Greeves???
Did'nt yamaha pull from scorpa leaving the bike on the scrap heap.

Sherco have shouted about the xispa possibly because it was a direct copy of everything on their bike, and appeared to be in production? The fact that in these economic times factories making a sound product tried and tested can't suceed where does the greeves fit in? and who will buy it?
