Reading some of your other posts I'm guessing that your not that old, so you wouldn't of been riding trials in the mid eighties when the last four-stroke trials bikes were built.
And as no full blown trials iron of the so called next generation four-stroke has been seen, makes me wonder where you get your hate from???

Being a bit older than you, I think I will wait and see what they are like before I decide what I think of them

Well said Ishy. I couldn't have put it better myself.

I'm very interested in the 4S developments. I've riden plenty of 4S's but never a trials one. I still love the effortless sound and look of a rider on a TRL so I'm looking forward to getting a try a modern version.

That '89 RTL looks luvverly. I myself am the proud owner of a 1985 bike which hasn't been out for a while and my mate Big Eck has one very similar.

The one thing about a four stroke is that they have incredible engine braking and when you snap the throttle shut they almost pitch you over the bars, until you get used to it of course, then you don't notice it until you ride a 2T for a while and go back to the 4T.

They are "different" and actually fun to ride. My kid can't wait to get one, but were having a brace of '04 Sherco's delivered at the moment, so no new four strokes planned at the moment.

BigJohn - another two new Shercos? - I assume that the old ones ran out of petrol - you do know that you can fill the tanks - you dont need to buy a new bike.

if you've got a problem getting rid of money I could do with some!!!!

The idea of four strokes is interesting. I just hope they figure out how to get rid of that fours stroke lag. I've had three Honda Reflexes and everyone of them would act like it was gagging right after you wacked the throttle. I never dared try anything serious on them as I was always afraid of doing an over the bars face plant when it didn't go anywhere.

I have owned /own many four trails machines, mostly Honda RTL's and I must say that I for one am waiting the arrival of the new 4 stokes with great anticipation... They are going to be excellent for my part of the world where finding traction has been the name of the game for the past few seasons ... I like the new board by the way... VIVA ANDY...............D

i can't wait till the new 4 strokes come out
i have alot of confidence in the factorys, that they will make a machine that will out power and out perform a 2 stroke.
but im going to wait a couple years so they can get the kinks out of them first ;)

I don't like Australians - but they're still there!!! ;) They will most likely be produced anyway, why not wait until you can try one as Ishy says. If you have a lot of preconceived ideas then you are setting yourself up for a bad experience.......

Yip Overthehill, I had no choice, but I am "skint" now so no chance of a hand out this side of Crimbo! Crimbo comes but once a year and its bl**dy expensive you know! Looks like a chicken wi' no trimmings this year - no turkey - Oh Bob Cratchett you don't know what poverty is like.

Actually they didn't run out of petrol, but the grips needed replacement so I had to let 'em go.
However, you shoulda seen the look on their wee faces when we pulled the new ones out of the van!!!!!

As for four-strokes... I like 'em!
Best wishes

- Big John :D
