Hi Just got myself a 242 and the forks need re-chroming where and how much ?? Does a mk 2 tank fit a mk1 as the tank on mine does look rather Big ? love the bike has'nt ran for a number of years but with a clean carb and some fresh fuel she fired up sounded good no rattles and the clutch is light .The gear leaver has a lot of movement from first to neutral is this normal? all the gears work fine. Lots of questions but its better to post a question as there is always someone with a answer than scratching your head for hours.
Cheers Scorpa250

Theres a place in staffordshire called fitforks.Havent used them yet,but a telephone enquiry revealed that its £170 for the recroming, which i beleive is more or less the going rate?Unless someone knows anywhere cheaper? As far as i know there were only two types of tanks for 242's the early fiberglass unit, and a later plastic tank which was white with red side panels, and both should fit any 242 .
