Clutch Basket Bearing

just fitting new clutch plates to my 350 gripper and noticed that the clutch basket could be moved from side to side , I,ve changed the needle roller bearing but the problem is still there , the bearing sleeve looks alright and is tight on the shaft , anybody know if there is supposed to be any movement in the basket at all ?
