I purchased a project C15 (1960) with no head steady and then bought one off of eBay. The one I purchased has a flat bar to connect head to frame clamp but it did not seem to fit so I used a simple spacer. It all fits together but is too wide and interferes with the gas tank. Is this the wrong head steady? Could someone describe what the correct one would look like? It looks pretty simple to make....maybe just longer where it attaches to the head. See the picture.

My B40 doesn't have a head steady at all.

My B40 doesn't have one either, that why it vibrates very bad on the road! No wonder I get "white finger" when I ride the thing!

Hi Guy's
The standard army frame has a tie rod that runs from engine to headstock , first mod I do is to fit one to tank rail. to stiffen things up.

Regards Charlie.

I ended up bending a piece of Aluminum 5052 to fit.

I use a Kehin on mine that started life on a 250 Kawasaki trail bike.

The carb is a kehin 22mm from a TLR200 Reflex. I'm still putting the bike together so have not run it yet.

Hi Guy's

I thought it was a Kehin 22, I have one on a C15F engined bike , and it is that clean, that you could ride the bike up the side of a house, jetting is straight from the Honda TL185 it was fitted to originally.

Regards Charlie.

Charlie,

I'm now trying to start the bike with the Keihin. I have gotten a few "pop, pop, pop"s and one with maybe 7 pops but she does not start. lean maybe? timing a little retarded? There has been no spitting back through the carb and no kick back. Do you have a starting routine to recommend for the Keihin? I know my TLR200 wants to be started a certain way. I have zero experience with British bikes and just put this one together so it could be something else.

Thanks,

Dan
