Took my 2007 sherco 290 out for a hour or two lastnite and when washing all the dirt off i notice that i have a fair bit of oil coming from behind the front sprocket, seems like its coming from the sproket shaft seal. I priced a new seal and they are less than two pound, typical in it. Has anyone else had this seal go, and can you change it from the outside????? I changed one on a yzf426 by digging the old one out and sliding the new one on with a socket, but am unsure with a sherco as i've never attempted it.

Should be a quick enough job as you stated. Nothing special there, yet I have not had to change one. :rotfl:

Just changed one on my wife's '04 125, simple job just as you stated on your YZF. Couldn't figure the cause, but have had no problems since replacement.
