I must say I am disappointed that after selling tickets for months
just weeks before the event we are told that it is going to cost £5 a day to park.
What are others thoughts on this?

Hi Montman,
When the tickets first went on sale (August last year?) there was a 3 day parking pass available for £10 which made me think that parking at the time might be more expensive - hence I purchased the pass along with the tickets and thus far I've saved a total of 15 squids by buying in advance.
My personal opinion is that £5 a day to park at an event like this is about normal these days? There's always the option of parking in the Fort and jumping on the bus for a quid? Failing that, I'll squash as many as I can in the back of the Landy for free (first come, first served basis) :)

See y'all there...............

I think the parking is somewhat out of the organisers control. I've been to other events and parking at the cattle mart is always charged with much if not all the proceeds going to charity. I think the mart rather than the event organisers are who is charging.

As Gavin says, there are shuttle buses which at MTB events work very well.
Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.

Our parking plan has been the same since the outset and has been advertised on the event website from the start.

Please allow us to explain the following, there are 3 basic levels of parking

1: VIP Paddock Parking - £5 for 2 days - £10 for 3 days - now sold out

2: Rural Complex Parking - £5 per day - Third party operator

3: Off site Parking - Free - (Except for town centre council car parks) - £1 per person per shuttle bus journey

Alternatively if you are staying locally you can leave your vehicle at your place of rest and take the shuttle bus - check www.ukworldtrial.com for routes

We hope this answers this topic and to see you all soon.
