My mate just bought a 2004 Sherco 290 and has snapped the kickstart (trying to start it with no petrol ). The only ones he can find seem to be £100-plus.

Does anyone know of an alternative fitment from another manufacturer or cheaper pattern supplier?

Cheers.

When i bought my sherco the kickstart was broke and had the same problem. I luckily found one on ebay for about £40 but theres apparantly no pattern ones made. I've seen a few with gas gas ones on though

You can buy just the end piece which reduces the price down to £75

Yea, I was going to add that, beat me to it!!!!!

When you assemble the things, the ball and spring along with setscrew adjustment are critical.

Thanks for all the replies.

He got a local engineering firm to weld it with a sleeve. Seems great up to now.
