Hi Guy's.
I have promised Natalie James, that I will try and find her father Derek, and late uncle Ray's Ex works BSA Victor sidecar outfit.
This is the one built firstly and ridden by Arthur Pullman.
Derek has recently got involved again with the classic trials scene and spent the weekend with us at Stoneleigh, and enjoyed it immensely.
He can not remember who bought the bike from the Round's but thinks they may have been local to the midlands. If any of you, Have any information or have, or can remember this outfit, in shall we say from the eighties, or know if it is still about today, Natalie and myself would be more than interested in meeting up with the plot again. It was a works bike, and I am collating information about the BSA Competition Department.

Regards Charlie.

Hi Guy's,
I have just been contacted by Brian Bedford (My relative) from the IOM. To say that the last person that he knows, to have owned the Round outfit. was Tim Fairbrother. Does anyone have any contact details for Tim? you can PM me if you like.

Regards Charlie.

Hi Guy's
Just an update to the story so far (as they Say)

Well I have contacted Tim and he tells me that when he spoke to Peter Roydhouse, some years ago he said that the ex works BSA outfit 92 HOH was somewhere in deepest Yorkshire, in a very sorry state. So do any of you guy's from the Yorkshire Classic Club, have any information about the bikes whereabouts I would love to find the bike for Derek Round before it is to late.

Regards Charlie.

Hi Guy's
Hi Natalie,
I am trying to find information at the moment, I will get back to you when I know anymore.
Unless any of you guy's on here know anything.
It is part of "Trials History" we are trying to trace!!!!
Even you younger ones must have heard of the sidecar stars of yesteryear????
It would be a superb Christmas present for Derek if we could come up Trumps.

Regards Charlie.

Have you tried contacting the DVLA ??

For £2.50 they will tell you who the current registered keeper is, you need to complete a form V888
Details here

Cheers

hi martin yes i have contacted them back in april this year, they told me to write a letter to the owner and they would hopefully pass it on, which i did ,but a decition was made as part of regulation 27 they are not permitted to release or pass on any information, despite the heart felt letter i had written and apologised, the only info they could give me was the number plate had not been transfered and was still with the origional bike. thanks though

Hi Guy's.
Hi Natalie.
I think our best bet is to contact the Yorkshire Classic Trials Club.
I am sure one of there members may know something if asked the question.
I have someone else ,that i will ring who may know, or will put the word a"Round" for me.

Regards Charlie.

Hi Guy's
Hi Natalie,
I have been in touch with the man I told you about, who is sort-of from Yorkshire, and knows nearly everyone, in Classic Trials, and they have dealings with him.
So he has kindly said, that he will do some delving for us.
Let me know what happens with the Yorkshire Post? If I can help them, get them to e-mail me.( it is on my profile)

Regards Charlie.

charlie great news
92 HOH HAS BEEN FOUND!! yes we found it after a man called mick wilkinson called from the paper article to say he knew that a man had got it he knew and provided me with a phone number, i called and yes he confirms he has it, i passed him on to dad and as far as i understand he is not sure if he wants to sell it but would speak to his sons about it, he also did not know how much it would be worth either, he said the sidecar was not on the bike but he does have the sidecar and the whole outfit has not been moved or started for a long long time ..

Hi Guy's
Hi Natalie.

That Is Brilliant News.
I would think If the current owner has any sense of Trials History, He will know that the rightful place for this piece of trials History, Is back with the family that made the bike famous! I do so hope you get it back, There is now, years of journalistic potential with this machine. And the people in the know must realise that?
Pat Slinn, Told me a while ago, that he once rebuilt the engine for 92 HOH in the BSA comp-shop workshop, So I am sure we can get him on board for any information, ETC, about the engine unit.
Anyway Natalie, give my regards to your Dad, and tell him I do so hope that he gets the bike back in his hands.
And a Very Happy Christmas to you all.

Charlie.
