A lot of people seem concerned about the volume of the new breed fourbanger pipes, dont any of you ride when there is a pre 65 class?
You colud hardly call a triumph trophy or a cub for that matter quiet, but the noise they create is marvelous,I cant wait for a new banger (still wringing the kneck off my scorpa 125 f,poor thing,i am 17 stone)

AOHVA's Response to Quebec Trail Closures

December 13, 2004

The Honorable David Coutts,

Alberta Sustainable Resource Development,

Legislature Office # 203,

10800-97 Avenue,

Edmonton, Alberta T5K 2B6

Dear Mr. Coutts:

Re: Quebec lawsuit – Closure of trail 325

With the recent Quebec lawsuit and closure of Trail 325, I wanted to make you aware of the position of the Alberta Off Highway Vehicle Association (AOHVA) on this matter.

The AOHVA does not endorse the use of aftermarket or modified muffler systems. We recognize that sound levels from these modified machines are the number one cause for conflict in working through issues of recreational access.

This Quebec decision will have negative impacts firstly on the snowmobile industry but will impact all motorized recreation. Those that choose to modify their exhausts by increasing noise levels, as well as spark arresting capabilities are a great concern of the AOHVA.

The AOHVA has been active with your department in creating information material as well as distributing this information at trade shows. We will continue to be proactive in dealing with this and other issues that negatively affect our recreation.

We look forward to continuing our positive partnership with SRD, Community Development, and other user groups such as the Alberta Snowmobile Association and member clubs to promote safe and responsible use of the backcountry.

Should you require further information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at 403-638-5046.

Yours sincerely,

Calvin Rakach

President
