Hi All,

New to the forum, so firstly big hello to all.

Been told that the bottom end has gone on my 200 gasgas TXT (2000 model) I don't have the spare cash at present to pay for it fixing, so it's gunna have to be a DIY job. I've been searching for a workshop manual for ages but cannot find one. Can anyone suggest where I can get hold of a suitable manual? how dissimilar is the 2000 bike from earlier/later models? could I use a earlier/later manual?

Cheers,

Col.

Col,

I checked my video service manuals covering the older engines but there is not much in the way of engine disassembly and repair. The 2000 model is a basic engine so if you have experience you should not have any problems. The parts manual will give you a basic idea of part relationship. The newer model engines (02' on up Pro) are a different animal but the video owner's manual covers engine repair in their case. I doubt that the Pro manual would help you much. As far as I know, there is no written service manual.

Thanks Paul/Jon, very much aprriciated and thanks for your help.

I was hoping for something which gave me serviceable limits of components, since I'm not 100% positive it is the bottom end, I could have done a check. Also what would have been usefull would have been tightening torques ect. Are there any non re-usable parts when taking on this kind of job? stretch bolts and the like? If anyone has done a similar job, would you be so kind as to recomend items I need to/would be good practice to replace while i'm in there. I don't have a lot of money to play with, so just the bones please. Are there any memorable snagging points that would be good for me to be aware of?

Thanks in advance for anyones help.

Col.
