You need to watch this page on their Website. Ilkley Events

Looks like they haven't an entry form up yet or they have the entries already in. I'd click on contacts and get in touch with Neil Raven. His Number is on the site as is a web mail button.

no that is the ilkley classic trial run in may for the last 6 years or so. the ilkley grand national has run since 1927 on middleton moor to the north of ilkley originally using much of the scott trial route orf the late 20's and thirties. the grand natinal is a time and observation trial exactly like the Scott. it was renowned for its long boggy moorland crossings though today the route is much shorter and less extreme.

In which case I am corrected :D

Looks like a good trial for the Long distance Trialer.

A North Yorkshire Council " volunteer" turned up yesterday and was very upset about what was going on. Some explained it was an organised event with all the necessary permissions, but he still wasn't happy about it.

You get them Dave, Usually they are trying to intimidate somebody. Not easy to intimidate a set of Trials riders though ;-)

ilkley is firmly in west yorkshire but the northern reaches of the valley and the site of the trial are in north yorkshire. As for the trial another cracking edition , the land was dry in the most part just the becks and bogs carrying a bit of water. Any visit form 'officialdom' would have seen very limited 'damage' to the flora and fauna and certainly zero permannet effects. in fact after 85 years of much the same route very little eveidence of the passing of the trial is visible. Ilkley club is to be congratulated for another excellently organised event, even down to marshals manning footpath crossings on the moors.
