Just started prepping the bikes for trip to europe for summer trials (you must have working lights there)so as seems normal with my ST250 the lights decided to go intermittent traced it all back to broken earth wire inside the loom ..it may be unique to my bike but they had put a cable tie exactly where 2 wires are crimped into 1 and it had "garroted " the connection. Just thought this may be somewhere to start looking if anyone else has similar problem.

Given that the lights on a current trials bike do not comply with the law anyway as regards road use would we get away with battery operated LED lights for French trials do you think?

Possibly but it depends on the individual scrutineer. we are doing several events (if you're going to Geuret as Bob Marley says.. dont worry .dont worry 'bout a thing, cause every little thing gonna be allright) so my plan is to turn up with what the factory supplies (working) and throw my hands in the air and shout a lot if there is still a problem.. I'd feel a bit of a twerp if i turned up with a couple of torches having stripped out the original eqpt. only to get turned away. Bear in mind the law here isn't neccesarily the same there or interpreted in the same way.
