Just finished restoring my Alfer and took some photos of it this morning.
I Thought you Trials guys might be interested and id love top hear your comments and memories if you remember them at the time or rode one etc.

Although they werent imported into the UK , were any ridden at UK World rounds?

It was quite a slog getting everything right . Now the job is done , the pain and grief will fade as a distant memory - i hope

Have a look chaps and chapesses

It looks kind of like a childs bike, never seen one before today.
Good work.

I remember seeing one at the 1991 UK world round at Houghton Tower in Lancashire.
I think possibly it was ridden by Thierry Girard? but i'm not sure about this.
The bike was possibly an earlier version, it was purple/white and was called a 252, it seemed to go very well, it was a very wet & muddy event as i recall.

T shock,
I think the bike your refering to was the French Alpha not this Spanish Alfer.Thierry Girard did ride the Alpha. The names and look make them easily confused and both marques were around at the same time. Its a bit strange how similar they were , but i dont believe they were connected at all.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Eddie, the simple answer is that I made them all of the decals.

I took photos of the original tank and then uploaded them onto my computer. Then using photo shop free software I cleaned them up, smoothed them out . Then had to alter to exact correct scale. This all took hours and hours and hours. I then scanned them using a bitmap piece of software which smooth the edges. I the converted them all to high res images.20 mg each. Then emailed them to printer with the gear. He printed them off and posted them to me. Half I got back weren't good enough so I had to do them again. The trouble is that his ace printers picked up every small imperfection. It also took a long while to get used to the software but got there eventually.

Then what about mudguards, do you make those yourself too?

Yes I made the rear seat unit/mudguard, wasnt to hard. I love these freaky different bikes. They were built by people with Passion and who weren't afraid to throw their savings at something different.I admire the new Greaves bike designer and owner. He's bitten off more than he can chew but he's got real balls and his passion is strong.I know passion doesn't pay the bills but he's done something I'd love to do.He should have gone more way out futuristic in his design . That may have got a better response.

I'm officially projectless at the mo. I've got an old Skywalker which needs a major overhaul , but ill leave it for spares. I don't know about you guys but ever since big brother hit the scene along with other reality trash my tv has been hijacked by my wife. So its watch garbage and turn into a cabbage watching morons on x factor or crack on with my own bike stuff. Luckily she's happy with me to keep getting more. I've got a few ideas and a couple arranged to get here by end next month. I'm having ethanol problems at the mo which is taking up loads of time, sealing tanks and redoing very tricky paint jobs.
