Hi , recently got into trials riding so purchased a Aprilia climber to start off on as it was cheap and in need of a bit of tarting up . I have stripped the forks down to find nothing about what oil to put back into them .
They are Marzocchi 35mm stantions , they are on a 93 model too.
Any help or info about this bike would be welcomed .
Michael.
Advise on Aprilia Climber fork oil amount .

IN 93 HAND BOOK IT SAYS 260cc BOTH LEGS ,BUT MENTIONS 2 X DIFFERENT GRADES OF OIL 5W + 20W . WOULD THINK 5W FOR DAMPER 20W FOR SPRING SIDE IF THESE RUN SPRING IN ONE SIDE ONLY . IF DAMPER RODS IN BOTH FORKS USE 5W IN EACH .

JUST SEEN YOUR OTHER POST , FILL USING 5W OIL IN DAMPER SIDE ( ONLY ) FIRST IF NO DAMPING DRAIN + TRY 20W + PUT 5W IN SPRING SIDE

Brilliant thanks a lot . Although the second post as seen above didnt make too much sence . The legs are dampener in one side with a adjuster wheel with the letter R on the top is on one and the caliper side leg has just a spring in . They are Marzocchi too if that makes any difference ??

TRY 5W OIL IN DAMPER SIDE , USE DAMPING ADJUSTER FULLY ONE WAY -ve THEN FULLY ONE WAY +ve TO SEE IF YOU HAVE ADEQUATE DAMPING ( OR ANY DAMPING WITH 5W OIL) . IF NONE DRAIN OUT AND FILL WITH 20W AND PUT 5W IN SPRING SIDE

Tried 5wt in the damper side , was too soft the oil wouldnt dampen properly so going to stick 20wt in and see how that feels .
