Went out today on got myself a sherco 290 2002, any good or bad point about them?

'02 was the year they experimented a bit and first gear was a bit taller than some liked. Thusly many changed to a 44 tooth rear sproket or some used the 9t front.
Ignition timing was advanced as well, so they ran like scat! Too much for many, thus many have been set back a bit!
Still a powerfull bike and very competitive!
