Never ridden one but yes, the engiine is the same unit as the 280 SWM. Whether it's in a different state of tune I don't know, but I'd guess the bike is similar to a late SWM to ride.

I saw a very smart one at a trial in Spain. Someone with a keener eye than mine said it was an early mono shock , converted to twinshock and fitted with a replica Honda tank and seat unit.

IF it went as well as it looked...

I have a TX300 for a motor tune up at the moment. The Rotax motor is nearly the same as the SWM unit, although the clutch is fitted with the later actuating arm that runs on the larger ball bearings. Clutch action with this is very light, its running on 4 springs and is probably better than the later TXR clutch version that I have fitted to my SWM.

Carb is a standard Dellorto PHBH26BS, jetting and slide are different to SWM, although I'm not sure if this is because someone has been messing about with it.

The cylinder head looks different, anybody know what it is ?

I know the TX311 and TXR heads have a head stay (bracket mounts the head to the frame) for helping vibration.
