hi

what oil would be fine for a scorpa 175f?

i see they recommend motul 300v fully synthetic, but i cannot get this locally.

i take it something like shell advance ultra be fine for this engine as it does not work hard anyway, and i can get it locally....better price too.

i want to use good oil, but are some of the recommendations overkill? given it not a race bike....

cheers

Hi Sykes,

try and get a motorcycle synthetic oil, as the car ones have slightly different friction modifiers which can make the clutch slip. Fuchs(silkoline), castrol, putoline and others all do motorcycle only synthetics.

+1

If Scorpa recommends fully sythetic motorcycle oil for wet clutches, I would stick to that, also make sure it's the right viscosity.

What grade of 300V do they recommend? 300V is expensive high temperature racing oil. Quite a few 4 stroke motocrossers reckon its the bees knees, but that type of use is nowhere near the same as trials.
