Speedo, horn and if you have any lights fitted, they must work. Your number plate must be the legal size, ish ;0) and mounted vertically, not stuck to your mudguard, its not illegal to stand up, but a police officer could pull you for not being fully in control of your vehicle (in his opinion) and accuse you of dangerous riding :0(. Your tyres should also be inflated to a pressure suitable for road use and use the appropriate hand signals to inform other roads of what your intentions are ;0). ( one coffee for me too, is not considered good road etiquette ;0) ) don't forget to either keep the tax disc with you or stick it on you bike somewhere, as it a legal requirement to display it.

By the way Lee, if you pop around, I've got the template for your fuel tank you wanted, unless you can wait until the NBMCC at chilton.

Just ignore the MOT stuff if under 3 years old !!!! So ..............

Get a certificate of age from Honda UK or the Montesa importer at the time (Pidcocks) http://www.pidcock.com/ for an age related plate. You will need to give them your frame and engine number. Forget ‘Q’ plates as hard to get insurance at a sensible price. The importer will normally charge between £10 & £20 for this...........

Insurance

Get insurance on the frame number (Carol Nash will do this for two weeks) http://www.carolenas...CFcjKtAodkVMAnw you then have to give them the registration number when registered. Make sure you can get to the DVLA within 2 weeks of insuring it or they may cancel your policy.

The DVLA

Go on the internet and order a v55/5 from http://www.dft.gov.u...rder_forms.aspx or you can get one posted over the phone. When you get this fill it in with the obvious boxes but make sure you put it down as a 'trial bike' you don't need to fill out all the emissions info / power to weight etc etc, you don't need to fill out things to do with the MSVA test. This VMCC site says what boxes need to be completed. http://www.vmcc.net/lib_sos_form.pdf

Just fill out your details; bike info make, colour, cc's etc. Go to your local DVLA without the bike first but with all your paperwork ( inc passport and utility bill) you pay them about £96 which includes your tax for a year when you are there on your first visit you will need to book the bike in for a inspection go back on your inspection date and will tell you on the day of inspection its registration Number and give you a tax disc

Give the registration number to your insurance company.

When you get log book just check the frame and engine number are correct.

Then get a number plate made up http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649 and fix with your tax disk to the bike.

Job done

Then if you really want to look legal get a bike speedo from Halfords or ebay http://www.ebay.co.u...=item5d39978c37

And a horn from the above or Sammy Miller as this will be needed when the MOT is first due!

Hope that helps !!!!!!!!!!
