Hey bud, this is the move that alot of us are striving to perfect. ....the japzap. This is one of the best vids showing how its done right.

With your splat attempt, try place a small kicker rock just before the ledge, that should lauch your rear tire up and into the ledge. I havent even tried a splat.....im stil working on the japzap.

Not to bad ...... if you are a girl ....hahahh

No need to speed at the log, sloooooow approach, lift front wheel to touch log mid height or a little higher as wheel touchs compress rear, feather in the clutch add more revs as suspension is rising fully engage clutch and lift up on bars and lift up on pegs with your thighs , this should see back wheel rise up high on log and not thump into it, keep front wheel elevated with this combination, do it with the right timing combination should not feel the hit of the back wheel and you should not make that log rock and roll, practice timing over and over till you get it sweet.

I think the technique on the bank is called "just hit it", it's effective

The log you have a good double blip going on, I find it hard to time stuff, it seems to happen too quickly to put the movements together sometimes

When I watch an expert they pop up on stuff slowly and practically stop on top of the log on the rear wheel and I am always amazed

That is some good advice right there. Ive always tried the japzap with a half decent runup and felt more speed is essential to get up a decent step. Today i tried a short runup that obviously slowed things down and what a surprize, the bike just hopped right up there effortlessly. Then to confirm, i took a long run up but at snail pace, and same thing.

slowing things down helps a hell of a lot to getting your timing right.

Hi baldilocks

Im friends with him on FB. His EVO is up for sale, he says trials is just not for him. He has done a few stunt shows and seems to be more focused on that. Due to a trials bike design, he says that trials bikes arent great stunters for his style of riding. I suggested that he keep the EVO and do something different with it, like kit it out for dedicated stunting ie: pogo pegs, weelie bar etc. I recon it would make a great stunter due to the power and weight, kinda like freestyle bmx on steroids.

Anyway, trials is just not his thing.

Hello Xerotti.

I'm a trials rider from Colombia, we have had a long tradition here in motorcycle trials, and we are very active nowadays in trials. In the large cities like Bogota or Medellin, we have 40 riders each citie.

We are actually a very close "brotherhood" here in Latin-America, and we have arrange latin american championships and competitions together.

Countries which are active nowadays in trials are: Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guatemala, CostaRica, El Salvador, and Mexico is showing up lately...

We try to have trials clinics with top riders on a regular basis, specially spaniards... Jordi Pascuet was in Colombia past August..

Good to hear there is still a trials candle flaming held by you in Argentina....! You are welcome to join us anytime..!! And to be part of this latinamerica brotherhood we have..!!

We are trying to bring a LATINAMERICAN team to compete at the TDN this year...

Dont be discourage if you find moto trials hard at the begining... Once you past this first learning curve you are going to be hooked for LIFE and you would never be the same again... I would assure that by experience...!

Here are the link of the latest latin trials gathering held in BRAZIL....
