Hi

Numpty alert:!!!!!!!

Just wondering what BSA Bantams are worth when modded. I know it depends on the level of mods and quality of the overal job but roughly speaking what are they worth? I am about to start building one but do not want to plough thousands into it for it only 900 quid ( i am new to the pre65's but wanting to get into it....ive seen them varying in price so not really sure?)

Cheers

if your building a bike and the first question your asking is how much will it be worth then the answer is not to proceed any further

if the question is how much will it cost to build a bike then the answer is anywhere between 1 and 5k

If the question is how much will it cost me to buy a built trials bike the answer is 1500 to 5000

of course they be plenty of folk along in a minute to tell you theyve built one for 3 quid and a toffee wrapper and i dont doubt it for a minute..

Spot on but I'll raise your 5k to 6 +.

Don't do it if you have doubts this early on, how much are you hoping to do it for ?????

Depends on your skills/capabilities (welding, machining etc). Regardless, to build a good one with original modded frame (fiddle forks, alloy yolks, alloy hubs/rims, decent shocks, new carb, centre head, alloy exhaust, elect ignition etc) will cost you about £2.5k if you can do the mods yourself. A good one will be worth 3k upwards so its unlikely you will lose money.

We're only 'hiring' these things anyway - classic bikes are a better investment than a savings account...

Heres mine, I love it, cost me £1200 a couple of years back to build, but lots of work. Still needs alloy rear hub and barrel but if I had them I wouldnt lose any less marks so im not in a rush..

And heres my old mans, built for about £2k but again, lots of work...
