Bsa Bantam D7 Running

Just finished rebuild of Bantam D7, with a couple of running issues.

Takes a good while to start - seems when you put some petrol down the port and heat the plug it will start, then run ok - changed plug cap and new plug.

It will then tick over and rev out, but when you ride under load it bogs after about quarter throttle - sounds like it is pulling a load of air in.

Any thoughts ? (crank seals ??)

cheers guys

John

Is the float height set at the correct level in the carb, sounds like the fuel level in the chamber is too low to get pulled up the jets.Make sure the carbs is 100% correct in assembly and settings before worrying about crank seals etc.

i m jetting my bike as we speak. a std engine that ran brilliantly put on a different exhaust and the difference to the running is unbelieveable. i suspect your going to become good friends with the folk at Burlen (they are very decent though, delivery is nxt day )
